The annual forum is organised by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA). It is the region’s top gathering for tourism stakeholders and global buyers.
Representing Dominica at this high-level event is a delegation led by Marva Williams, CEO and Director of Tourism at the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA).
Advancing Dominica’s Position as a Sustainable, Experiential Destination
Dominica’s participation is part of a strategic effort to promote its globally recognised approach to sustainable tourism – one that prioritises environmental preservation, cultural authenticity, and inclusive economic growth.
The island continues to differentiate itself through eco-tourism, wellness travel, adventure experiences, and heritage-based attractions.
“Participating in the Caribbean Travel Marketplace is a strategic move to solidify our reputation as a leading sustainable tourism destination,” said Williams.
Key Features of the Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2025
This year’s edition of the Marketplace includes innovative forums designed to address the evolving needs of Caribbean tourism destinations. Among the highlights:
- Responsible Tourism Day: A full-day programme focused on climate resilience, sustainability best practices, and community engagement.
- Caribbean Travel Forum: A policy roundtable with regional tourism ministers and industry leaders shaping the future of Caribbean travel.
- Direct Booking Summit – Caribbean Edition: A first-of-its-kind regional event focused on digital transformation and reducing reliance on third-party booking platforms.
These new elements align closely with Dominica’s tourism model, which emphasises sustainable value creation over mass tourism.
Sustainable Tourism: The Dominica Advantage in Eco-Tourism
Dominica’s natural assets – 365 rivers, the world-renowned Boiling Lake, lush rainforests, and its absence of international chain resorts – continue to attract environmentally conscious travellers.
The island also offers immersive experiences such as whale watching, guided hikes, and Kalinago cultural tours. These support local communities while enriching the visitor experience.
By participating in this prestigious forum, Dominica not only showcases its distinct tourism offerings but also builds valuable partnerships with regional tour operators, global buyers, hoteliers, and travel media who are seeking unique, sustainable travel destinations.

As global travellers increasingly seek meaningful and environmentally responsible travel experiences, Dominica remains exceptionally well-positioned to meet these evolving expectations.
A Vision for Inclusive, Sustainable Growth
Dominica’s active participation in the Caribbean Travel Marketplace is a powerful reflection of its long-term tourism vision. A vision that harmonises economic development, environmental protection, and community empowerment.
As a nation committed to sustainable growth and global leadership in climate resilience, Dominica continues to invite the world to discover more than just a travel destination. It offers a compelling blueprint for purpose-driven tourism and responsible national development.
